VIP passes for all Patricks as the Guinness Storehouse celebrates St Patrick’s Day

It will be a very special St Patrick’s Day at the Guinness Storehouse this year as the top attraction celebrates 10 years since it first opened its doors to the public with a unique promotion. For one day only, on the 17th March 2010, Guinness Storehouse will present anybody by the name of Patrick – or indeed any variant of the name – with a complimentary pass into the St Patrick’s Day Festival – otherwise known as the ‘Very Important Patrick’ Pass.

Official identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, must be presented by any Patricks going along on the day so that they can enjoy the full range of attractions on offer at no charge. To kick start the festivities, visitors will be greeted by street performers and fire jugglers as they arrive. Once inside, Arthur & Olivia Guinness characters will be on hand to welcome visitors as they begin their celebrations.

Top U2 tunes will be performed by ‘Rattle and Hum’ on the day. Meanwhile, Irish acts Jimmy Smyth, Sliotar and The Gravel Walk will also take to the stage at various points through out the day. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Dublin in Gravity Bar, as they enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness and listen to the funky tunes being played by DJs Peter Cosgrove and Peter McKenna. And for something a little more traditional, there will be an interactive Céilí Mór taking place during the day.

In addition to the St Patrick’s Day live music acts, visitors can also learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness like a true connoisseur and have the chance to take home a hand drawn caricature of themselves enjoying their perfect pint! Added to this, there will complimentary tastings of two Guinness variants – Foreign Extra Stout and Extra Stout. A selection of delicious Guinness inspired cuisine, meanwhile, will be available in the Brewery Bar Restaurant. With so much going on, there is no doubt that the St Patrick’s Day celebrations at the Guinness Storehouse will offer entertainment and excitement in abundance for all Patricks and non Patricks alike.
